J250-2EC Pump Refurbishment

The ITT Marlow J series basket pump was a very common pump used on lots of swimming pool and pond applications. It is also known as the Argonaut pump. to identify which model you have look for the information plate running vertically down the outside of the basket compartment, nearly always on the right side. As with all pumps over time the seals and motor often fail leading to leaking wet ends, burnt out motors, and failed components. ITT were acquired by another company a few years back and they reconfigured the J series into the up to date Argonaut AV series of pumps. You can replace a "J" with an AV however the port size and location are different, so a plumbing alteration is usually always necessary. (not good if your pipes are set in concrete)

The good news is that the black tank on the J series is usually fine and can be transplanted to another motor, making it easy to fit back onto your current plumbing set up.

The DIY kit include: pump motor, tank lid and lid o-ring

Things to note ...

When the DIY Kit arrives and you are ready to transfer the pump tank onto the new motor ... please make sure that you keep the old 4 bolts from your existing  pump motor and use them with your new assembly. We will not be able to supply those bolts. Keep them safe !
